Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made an online purchase and the product was not the same as the description on the website.

Write an email to the website support department in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • What you purchased and when.
  • Exactly how it is different from the website description.
  • How you would like the company to fix the problem.

Dear Manager, My name is Felix, and I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the watch I purchased online from your website in March 2020. I bought this watch for my dad for his 50th birthday. When I purchased this watch, I read your product description, and that impressed me and forced me to go for this beautiful watch. As mentioned on the website, this smartwatch is helpful for our daily routine and person can attach to their smartphone for their convenience. But when I tried to attach this device to my dad's phone, it didn't work, probably due to some technical problem either manufacturing issue. I am writing about this product because I have followed your website steps to set up this device. However, I may have got the wrong device, not the same as per web descriptions. Kindly address this situation proactively, as I have emailed you an original purchase invoice along with the serial number of a product.
