Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built in that area.
Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, a large supermarket, and a movie theatre.
City Development Survey :
Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.
I would like to opine for option B which is to build a recreational park that would include a sports complex, large green area, and a small petting zoo as this seems to be a far better choice and convincing for me than the other one. Though building a shopping complex is equally appealing, I would present a couple of reasons to substantiate my argument. To begin with, there are two primary reasons why option B is more advantageous than option A. Firstly, it promotes relationships; people can get meet from different families and have a good time. For example, a family can organize a birthday party at the recreational park and invite two or three families. Secondly, a recreational park improves the healthy environment. Indeed a recreational park has been increasing causing a healthy environment in the 2000s. One article suggests that a recreational park now supersedes the building of the shopping complex by 16%. Considering these reasons, a recreational park that includes a sports complex, a large area, and a small petting zoo would be more worthy than building a shopping complex.
