Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You had recently ordered a pair of running shoes, online for an upcoming event. The shoes sent were of different size and color, even though you had paid the money only after selecting the required size and color.

Write an email to the website support department in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • What you purchased and when.
  • Exactly how it is different from the website description.
  • How you would like the company to fix the problem.

Dear Support Team, Last week, on your website www.shoesforsale.com, I ordered a pair of shoes with size nine and black. But, to my surprise, the shoe I received was size ten and blue. I am sorry to say that your website was prolonged, and the ordering process had a lot of steps; overall, the site was not user-friendly. But, I somehow managed to submit my order. I am sure that I double-checked the specifications of the shoes twice before proceeding to the payment page and even the order history has the correct details. I am really in need of the shoes before this Thursday, which is only two days ahead. I must wear black shoes as I participate in a dance event where we have to wear uniform colour shoes. Also, the event will last for a longer duration, and I cannot wear shoes that are of incorrect size throughout the event. I would request you to prioritise and send the shoes, as I ordered on your website, in an expedited mail with one-day delivery. After that, I am ready to return the shoes which I received.
