Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made reservations for dinner at a very famous and expensive restaurant in town. However, the meal and the service were terrible. The restaurant manager was not available to solve the problem, so you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the restaurant's manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • State what problems you had with the food you ordered.
  • Complain about the service.
  • Describe how you want the restaurant to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

Dear Restaurant Manager, I would like to express my dissatisfaction regarding the poor food and service I got from your restaurant a few days ago. On July 30, It was my wife's birthday, so we reserved your restaurant for dinner. We ordered three plates of spicy curry-fried rice and a few pieces of garlic-honey grilled chickens from the menu. I would substantiate what happened; firstly, it took the waitress half-an-hour to attend to us, after our order was finally taken, it took them another 45 minutes to served us. Nevertheless, the rice we were served seemed to be staled and apparently the remnant from the previous day. We were extremely disappointed because I promised I was taking her to a top-notch restaurant that has good customer service and serves delicious foods. This was supposed to be a special beautiful night to give my wife a good treat. I would suggest you should consider employing more staff to help speed up the service process and customer service training to improve their style of service. Moreover, I would ask for a full refund of my money for the bad food. I have attached the receipt for your reference. I look forward to your prompt response. Yours Faithfully, Samuel
