Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built in that area.
City Development Survey :
Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, a large supermarket, and a movie theatre.
Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.
To whom it may concern, I will choose option B because it has several advantages over option A. Firstly, if you build the national park, more family and older people can enjoy free time and do the free time activity such as arranging a karaoke club where older people sing a song or do yoga in the morning. The second thing is that there are several Shopping malls and movie theatre in this area. So, By building a new theatre and shopping centre, it is a waste of public money. On the other hand, if you make Zoo or green park several people come to our city and make our city famous as a tourist location. I know there is no green park or Zoo near around the 500km area of this location. Making a recreational area Government can make some money, and it will not be harmful to the environment. From the above several reasons, I would like to go with option B, as Option A is a waste of money. Regards, Mike
