Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made an online purchase and the product was not the same as the description on the website.

Write an email to the website support department in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • What you purchased and when.
  • Exactly how it is different from the website description.
  • How you would like the company to fix the problem.

Dear Sir/Madam, This mail is to bring to your attention that I recently bought a table cloth from your website and the product I received was not as per the description on the website. I bought this product last month, and to be precise, it was purchased on Aug 15. I was looking for a peach-coloured table cloth which was made of linen, and as per the description on the website, it was exactly what I was looking for. After two days it was delivered as promised. But when I opened the box, I found the product was completely different from what I ordered on the website. This table cloth was made out of silk, and the colour was bright orange, which was not close to peach. I was so disappointed because now I had to look for a new product and I could not order again from your website since I was scared from this experience. I had to rush to several stores. I wasted so much time driving to the city. I would appreciate it if you could provide a refund for this product. I have already sent back the product to your return address as the product does not meet my needs. Regards Jenny
