Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
Your city is conducting a survey to know public opinion if the city should close the central zoo. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents think about it.
Option A: City should close the central Zoo.
Closing Main city zoo
Option B: City should not close the central Zoo.
In my personal opinion, I feel our city zoo is an educative recreation for kids and adults alike. Given the fact that our Zoo is facing some financial hardships, I do have some reasons for keeping the Zoo open, The main reason is that we get to see and learn about the various species of the animal, birds, reptiles, and insects along with their habitats and behavior in a safe environment rather than going into the forest. We should not ignore the fact that our Zoo is an active participant in conserving the most endangered animals and are providing rescue service to the animals in distress and releasing them back into the wild. These activities show the environmental responsibility of our city. It will attract tourists, thereby increasing our economy. Also, another reason is that it serves as a budget-friendly family outing. A family in any economic status can visit the Zoo at an affordable admission fee and enjoy all the facilities the Zoo has to offer. The petting zoo there is my toddler's favorite spot. I will miss our Zoo if the city plans to close it. Hence I am completely against this idea and hope the city will plan to raise donations and keep the Zoo open.
