Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
A local NGO working for the betterment of school-going kids, especially focusing on reducing the stress level in the new generation has sent out an opinion survey to see what people think about the presence of multimedia gadgets in house.
NGO conducting a survey:
Option A: Kids should have no access to gadgets like smartphones or iPad etc..
Option B: Kids should be encouraged to read books in their free time.
To whom it may concern In my opinion, children should be motivated to read more books rather than spending time on smartphones. There are two reasons, firstly it will increase their knowledge and secondly, they will get comprehensive career options. Moreover, using gadgets will have a dangerous effect on their health and indulge them in unsuitable activities. Reading books increases the level of information in children. They come across colossal vocabulary, sentence formation, and grammar which helps them excel academically. Furthermore, reading biographies of different people improves their concepts about cultures, science, fiction, etc. On the other side, smartphones ruin the brain structure, which harms physical and mental health. Research on child development showed that kids who spend maximum time on gadgets suffer from obesity, heart diseases, and fatigue. It also exposes them to various adult sites that are unsuitable at their age and can hinder their upbringing. I hope I made my opinion clear about the benefits of reading books over-bright screens as it increases the information and widens their career paths. While smart gadgets can lead to various health problems, and inappropriate media can hamper their growth. Regards Tony
