Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
A local NGO working for the betterment of school-going kids, especially focusing on reducing the stress level in the new generation has sent out an opinion survey to see what people think about the presence of multimedia gadgets in house.
NGO conducting a survey:
Option A: Kids should have no access to gadgets like smartphones or iPad etc..
Option B: Kids should be encouraged to read books in their free time.
To Whom it may concern. I believe kids should be motivated to read books whenever they are free. Although electronic gadgets are ruining their time, I still believe that instead of restricting them to access gadgets, parents or elders should encourage them to read books for several reasons. The first reason is that reading habit is hugely positive for kids, making their minds grow positively. Scientists proved than reading increase the concentration power and alertness. It also helps to release the stress. Parents or elders can motivate the children to read books by reading themselves. Children copy their parents, and if parents start reading, they will also follow them. The second reason is, restriction can never lead to positive output. For example, if we restrict kids to access any gadget or electronic device, they will be more curious about it. Whenever possible, they will access them when nobody is around, which will later increase the stress. Considering the above reasons, I believe kids should be encouraged to read books in their free time. Anyways, this is my personal belief.
