Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built in that area.
City Development Survey :
Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, a large supermarket, and a movie theatre.Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.
To whom it may concern, I want to go with option B, "Recreational Park", even though a shopping complex would provide shopping, eating out opportunities. In my opinion, our small town with Ten thousand people are ideal and a model town. Moreover, the creation of a recreational park will give many outdoor opportunities to our young families. E.g., young couples with their kids can spend quality time playing outdoor games. Secondly, our teenagers would best utilise a Sports complex, who can work out, play indoor games on bad weather days, and keep themselves active physically and mentally. Thirdly a petting Zoo would be enjoyed thoroughly by our little community members, as at that age being close to nature, animals will make their curious minds grow in the right direction, and the busy working parents can relax taking the toddlers around on the weekends. Considering the above reasons, having a recreational park is a better choice, and our community would be overjoyed. But, having a shopping complex, which might bring in too many people, too many cars, leads to air pollution and makes our peaceful town a busy, crowded, noisy town. Again, this is my personal opinion or belief. However, I will support any decision taken by the city. Kind Regards Mark
