Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions

Read the following information.

Hostel management has decided to upgrade the security in and around the campus. The management has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have as new security measure.

You are residing in a College hostel :

Option A: New HD Night Vision Cameras covering the area around the hostel.
Option B: Installing biometric locks on the doors.

I would like to opine in favor of option A which is to install new HD vision cameras covering the area around the hostel as this seems to be a better and right choice for me than the second available option. Though installing biometric locks on the doors is equally appealing, I would present a couple of reasons to substantiate my argument. To begin with, there are two primary reasons why option A is more advantageous than option B. Firstly, it will help in capturing 24 hours of activities; people around the hostel can be closely monitored. For example, if there is a reported incident around the hostel, this camera can help to reveal what happened. Secondly, it is more effective. Indeed a camera has been increasingly effective in the 2000s. One research article suggests that cameras are effective and now supersedes biometric locks by 20%. Considering these reasons, I believe that installing a new HD vision camera covering around the hostel would be more worthy than installing biometric locks on the doors.
