Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small city. City administration is planning to allocate funds for two possible projects.
Your City is funding ONE of the given projects :
Option A: Option A: Bike Lanes: Planning to build new separate lanes for bikers
Option B: Renovate gym: Planning to add a swimming pool and spa centre in existing gym
To Whom it may concern. I believe that constructing bike lanes I the best choice between the two available options. Although renovating the gym is essential and should be considered in the future, adding separate lanes for bike riders will be more beneficial at the moment and has a higher priority. First of all, separate lanes will help with prevention of deadly accidents. As statistics show, most deadly accidents in the city are currently caused by bikers having to ride on the streets along with the cars and other big motorized vehicles. Furthermore, although this is a small town, it suffers from heavy traffics for its narrow streets. At the moment, many people tend to use their car even for short distances as the traffic is more disturbing to them for bikes being less comfortable. Separate lanes for riding bikes can encourage more people to use bicycles, which can reduce the traffics. Therefore, for all I said, my choice is building lanes for riding bicycles. This way, It will reduce deaths due to accidents and heaviness of traffics. However, this is my personal opinion, and I advocate whatever you decide. Regards Tony.
