Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
The state government is proposing a new agriculture policy in your state but some organizations are opposing it because they feel, the new policy is against state farmers. Government has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to say on this issue.
New agriculture policy:
Option A: Import cheaper grains and vegetables from other countries.
Option B: Bring in more land under cultivation and support local farmers.
To whom it may concern, Farmers are the backbone of any nation; they are the people who feed the nation. Therefore, while making new policies, the government should think about its impact on the farmers rather than thinking about the money only. In my perspective, instead of buying cheaper grains and vegetables from foreign nations, our state government should prefer to increase the area of land under cultivation. If there is more land available for agriculture, there be more yield, which means more income for the farmers. Also, if we import seeds and vegetables, the local farmers will suffer more because we all know people are attracted to the imported items in our country. But if farmers are provided more land, they can use modern farming methods and increase the production of their crops. It will also contribute to our country's economy as the money is invested in our own country. Concluding, instead of sending the capital to other countries and buy cheap products, which may not be suitable for the environment of our country, we should support the idea of increasing the agricultural land. It will be beneficial for both the farmers and the nation. Kind Regards Mark
