Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

Last week you had travelled in a domestic airline due to some business. You did not have a good experience with that airline. The discontentment, due to the poor service, made you complain about the airline.

Write a letter in about 150-200 words to the manager of the football club. Your email should do the following things:

  • Problems faced by regular passengers
  • Complain about the poor service
  • Introduce yourself first
  • Explain what experience and special skills you have
  • Tell him/her when you think you could start

Dear Sir, I am writing this email because last week, I travelled from Calgary to Toronto, and I chose Hawaii Airlines for the very first time; I would like to say that I had a pleasant experience; however, it was the complete opposite. To begin with, when I approached the counter to check my bag, the lady "welcomed" me with such a bad attitude that she made me feel uncomfortable. When I checked my bag, she said I needed to pay 100 dollars, which I already had done on the website; her answer? There is nothing I can do. After that, I headed to the boarding gate and received a text from the airline informing me that my boarding gate had changed. When I got there, I had another unpleasant surprise, that was not the gate. I realized I was not the only one who lost, many passengers were in the same situation. As a regular passenger (and I am not talking just about myself), miscommunication, poor customer service, and lack of empathy are the most common problems for airlines.
