Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
Your city is conducting survey to know public opinion, if city should close the central zoo. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents think about it.
Closing Main city zoo
Option A: Option A: City should close the central Zoo.
Option B: City should not close the central Zoo.
To whom it may concern. Both options have their points of view, and I can see why some residents might think the zoo should have been closed because of animal protection reasons. On the whole, there are several reasons that the preservation of the zoo would be my preference. For one thing, it is the central meeting point in the centre of our city. Young and older adults have met there for more than 50 years now. It has become a famous symbol for our city and the whole area. In addition, I already went there with my parents as a child, and I would like to walk there with my kids if I will ever have any. For another thing, the entrance fees of the zoo bring a financial benefit to our city. It would be not so easy for our city to forego these earnings. The only problem I see with the zoo is that it is a bit old-fashioned and the animals have not much space. Therefore a modernization would be a good idea so that the animals can live a bit more appropriately. So, I would love to hear that the zoo will stay open for the reasons I have outlined.
