Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
Your city is planning to ban public smoking. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents think about it.
Option A: Smoking should be banned in public places.
Smoking in public places :
Option B: Smoking should not be banned in public places.
Undoubtedly, both options have their own merits to consider. I can understand why many of my neighbors have opted for option B, but I would certainly like to opine in favor of option A, as this seems far better and convincing one, corroborated through reasons outlines below:- At the one-set, smoking is injurious to health not only for smokers but also for non-smokers who inhale the smoke due to smoking done by others in public places. Secondly, it would restrict the chain smokers and make awareness among all, especially youngsters. They found these bad habits appealing when they see smoking done in public places without any hesitation. And last but not least, old persons, pregnant ladies, and people having medical issues like asthma will feel more comfortable with the strict ban by the Government in public places. Having understood my point of view, I think everyone will subscribe to my prospective. Thanks a lot for allowing me to express my opinion.
