Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You recently made reservations for dinner at a very famous and expensive restaurant in town. However, the meal and the service were terrible. The restaurant manager was not available to solve the problem, so you left without a resolution.

Write an email to the restaurant's manager in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • State what problems you had with the food you ordered.
  • Complain about the service.
  • Describe how you want the restaurant to resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

To, The Restaurant Manager, I am writing this email regarding my recent experience in your restaurant, located at McLean, Virginia. I have reserved a space for lunch with my wife to celebrate our 10th anniversary on May 1. We have reached there on time as scheduled but waited for 15-20 minutes long to get a table. After that, the waiter took another 30 minutes to reach our table to get our order. As we heard that the restaurant is famous for its platters, so we have ordered the same. I went with a vegetable platter and have chosen a chicken platter for my husband with a glass of margarita. The food was on our table in no time, so we were happy, but when we started eating it, it was the worst experience of my entire life. The veggies were not adequately roasted, and some of them were not even fresh. The same thing has happened to my wife's order. The meat quality was inferior. We were expecting to have the best lunch on our big day, but the experience was the opposite. I know that your restaurant in one of the best restaurants in the town. I would like to give you another chance. That is the reason I didn't give any bad reviews online. But I would like you to refund my bill in full as earliest. Regards, Mike
