Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
A local NGO working for the betterment of school-going kids, especially focusing on reducing the stress level in the new generation has sent out an opinion survey to see what people think about the presence of multimedia gadgets in house.
NGO conducting a survey:
Option A: Kids should have no access to gadgets like smartphones or iPad etc..
Option B: Kids should be encouraged to read books in their free time.
To whom it may concern. I think the kids should be encouraged to read books in their free time. Not allowing kids to have any access to gadgets like smartphone or iPad is a radical measure. Here are my reasons for this preference. First and most importantly, encouraging kids to read books will improve their concentration and, consequently, their learning capacity. Modern life is fast-paced and multi-tasked. However, human being does not have multi-task skill. When we make a list of tasks, one-by-one is a receipt to do things well done. Second, The adults are immersed in digital gadgets. Therefore, it is not possible any more isolate the kids from the digital environment. So, block the kids' access to digital gadgets is a very radical decision. Considering the above reasons, we should encourage kids to read books in their free time to improve their concentration and to avoid a radical decision. I appreciated the opportunity to give my opinion on this issue. Regards, Felix
