Writing Task 1: Writing an Email

Read the following information.

You had recently ordered a book, online from a bookseller. The book sent by him was not the latest edition, even though you had paid the money according to the latest edited version.

Write an email to the bookseller in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:

  • Complain about the service of the online site
  • State about the urgency for the latest edition

Dear Sir or Madam, Last week I ordered a book online for a course I am currently taking. The site is relatively easy to use. The instructions are step by step and very straight forward. Consequently, I use your services on numerous occasions. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience this time around. The book that I received was not the latest edition, although I paid the money according to the newest edition. For one thing, the course that I am taking requires the newest edition. Even though both editions are similar, the activated differs. As a result, I am always late with my assignments. For another thing, I am presently receiving special funding, which compensates me only for the latest edited version. To get back, the money is time-sensitive, and I am going to need the book as proof. Finally, Although this book provides some help, it is causing me undesired stress because I have to rely upon friends or the instructor to keep me up to date, and they are not always available. Therefore, I am seeking that the updated version be shipped to me by the next two weeks at no extra cost. I am willing to return this book but not before I received my initial order. I look forward to a positive response. Regards, Sam
