Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
Hostel management has decided to upgrade the security in and around the campus. The management has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have as new security measure.
You are residing in a College hostel :
Option A: New HD Night Vision Cameras covering the area around the hostel.
Option B: Installing biometric locks on the doors.
Dear Sir/ Madam, While I do see the benefit of installing high-quality night cameras, I believe the idea of setting up biometric locks on all the gates is a better choice because it will allow the hostel premises to become a comparatively safer place. Firstly, the fingerprint scan will provide unique identification for every student residing in the hostel premises, which cannot be copied. This new system will help in digitally identify a person who will be registered in the system. Secondly, with the help of the thumb or facial scan, there will be no chance of anyone other than the students enter the premises. This will help in enhancing the privacy and security policies. Lastly, it will assist in keeping track of the date and time of the people entering and exiting the premises. In other words, if a student comes back to the hostel room late, the warden will automatically know about it by looking into the security system. In summary, while the camera will only provide the live recordings of the incidences, the biometric lock will assist as a supreme safety guard.
