Writing Task 2: Responding to Survey Questions
Read the following information.
You live in a small town of 10,000 people. A large green area in the centre of town is undeveloped. The city has sent out an opinion survey to see what residents would like to have built in that area.
Option A: Shopping Complex: This shopping mall would include restaurants, a large supermarket, and a movie theatre.
City Development Survey :
Option B: Recreational Park: This park would include a sports complex, a large green area, and a small petting zoo.
To Whom it may concern. I believe, to build a recreational park would be a great option. Building a shopping complex has its advantages, but having a recreational park has more added advantages for the residents. Firstly, having a sports complex will attract youngsters, and the senior residents would be able to participate in the sports activities. This will be beneficial from the locals' health perspectives as they would be more likely to indulge in extracurricular activities with their kith and kin and would be able to spend some quality time with them in a different way. Secondly, a large green area and a small petting zoo would be a better idea as local people would take their kids out for playing and have some fun in the zoo. It's not only beneficial for the good health of the kids but also the overall development of the babies. Considering the above reasons, recreational park has endless benefits for the residents. Again, these are my personal beliefs, but I will support whatever the other residents decide to do. I appreciate the opportunity to provide my input on the issue. Regards Thomas
